2010 Draft
KICKERS

xx Brett Swenson Michigan St 5-7 173 xx
No Senior Bowl Comments Logged

The Sporting News War Room - Swenson is a good short-range kicker at the college level with limited size, leg strength and upside to become a starter in the NFL. He will likely serve as competition on a team as a free agent or possible late seventh-round pick. Strengths: Has an 85-percent success rate in his career on field goals of less than 40 yards. Has consistent field goal and kickoff techniques. Gets great explosion and rise on the ball upon contact.

Weaknesses: Swenson has a diminutive frame for the position with only above-average leg strength as both a kicker and a kickoff man. Has made only 64 percent of his field goals from 40 yards or more in his career. Gets little leg extension on his follow through.

ESPN

2008: Hit on 22 of 28 field goal attempts (78.6 pct.) with a long of 50 yards. Converted all 34 extra point attempts. Second team All-Big Ten selection.
Prototypical height and weight for position along with adequate top-end speed.
Durability is not a concern as he has yet to miss playing time due to injury throughout first three collegiate seasons (2006-'08).
Entering his fourth season handling the place kicking duties this fall.

xx Leigh Tiffin Alabama 6-1 198 xx
No Senior Bowl Comments Logged

The Sporting News War Room - Tiffin has been consistent and fundamentally sound at Alabama, hitting many big kicks in key spots. But his lack of leg strength will hurt him from beyond 40 yards. Still, Tiffin has what it takes to make it as a kicker in the NFL, but he's not likely to improve his leg strength. Whatever team drafts him will need a kickoff specialist.Strengths: Tiffin has been a productive kicker at Alabama, showing the mental toughness, poise and calm to hit big kicks in key situations. He is an accurate kicker who rarely misses field goals, and his technique is sound and consistent. Weaknesses: Has only adequate leg strength, at best, and isn't likely to hit 50-yard field goals consistently in the NFL. His leg strength is also an issue on kickoffs.

ESPN
2008: 20 of 29 field goal attempts (69.0 pct.) with a long of 54 yards and hit on 46 of 47 extra point attempts. Attempted 75 kickoffs for 4,805 yards (64.1 avg.) while recording two touchbacks."
Above average size for the position along with more than adequate top-end speed.
Durability is not an issue and has yet to miss playing time due to injury.
Entering his third consecutive season handling both the place kicking and kickoff duties for the Crimson Tide this upcoming fall.
