2015 Draft
158. Shaquille Riddick OLB, UWV

Cards rolled the dice on an edge rusher with limited big-time college experience.

6-6 242 Forty: 4.82.

Here's what four draft guides have to say about him:

Pro Football Now (Arkush): Ranked #22 as a DE. Played as a 5-technique for Mountaineers. Considered a 4-3 DE with some pass rush skills but may be able to play on his feet.

Lindy's: Has him rated #19th DE. Transfer from Gardner-Webb who played one year for Mountaineers. Warmed the bench for 6 games while at WVU before having a breakout game vs. Baylor where he racked up 4 tackles for a loss and 3 sacks; displaying quality range. He finished the year with 27 stops including 7 sacks and 11 tackles for a loss. ...quick off the snap...motor never idles...flexible lower body and natural bend...active hands....good awareness, closing burst and toughness. Limited resume and limited functional strength...relies on quickness and length to prevail. "One trick pony."

Beckett's Draft Guide - Not listed.

Pro Football Draft Guide - Rates #12 among 3-4 OLB's...Made an impact in his only season og major college ball...good length and burst at the snap...good closing speed...but lacks a physicl edge and coverage may be an issue...projects as a developmental project who should become a pass rush specialist.

Bottom Line: Cards need pass rushing help. Riddick could be just the man to provide some of it. Another Keim sleeper-type pick. On face-value, this is my favorite 2015 Cardinal pick.
