Tight Ends
This page will be a work in progress and updated frequently. Come back often and watch it develop.

2 Nick O' Leary TE x Florida St. 4.93 6030 252 x

Injured a hammy during Rose Bowl warmups...Great hands. Rang describes him as "old school" pointing out that he doesn't wear gloves. Excellent hands (hand-catcher)...But size/speed-wise, no Gronk...Only runs with one gear.

Pro Day (Brandt) - "...did not do any drills due to a left hamstring issue."

Combine: Arm: 29.8; 10-yd: 1.78; BP: 21; VJ: 30.5; BJ: 9-2; 20S: 4.50; 60S: 12.40

1 Maxx Williams TE x Minnesota 4.78 6030 249 x

Raw but has unlimited upside...Large catching radius and good body-control...Can play in-line or in the slot...Tough and physical after the catch...Good ball skills; but lacks explosiveness and twitchiness.

Pro Day (Brandt) - "...stood on his numbers from the NFL Scouting Combine (he was a top performer in his position group in the 40-yard dash, vertical jump, broad jump and 20-yard short shuttle). Williams did, however, go through positional drills and looked good doing so."

Combine: Arm: 33.5; 10-yd: 1.74; BP: 17; VJ: 34.5; BJ: 9-9; 20S: 4.50; 60S: 12.40

3 Ben Koyack TE x Notre Dame est. 4.77 6050 255 x

Versatile (Can line up as TE, H-Back or FB). But still a developmental type who'll need to become stronger and learn the ins and outs of his craft.

Pro Day (Brandt) - "...ran the 40-yard dash in 4.76 and 4.82 seconds. He had a 30-inch vertical and a 9-foot-8 broad jump. He recorded a short shuttle time of 4.52 seconds and a three-cone drill time of 7.32 seconds. His hands measured 10 7/8 inches. He performed 16 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press. He's described as a player that has some ability and will probably be a third-day (Rounds 4-7) pick.

Combine: Arm: 32.6

4 Wes Saxton TE x So. Alabama 4.65 6030 248 x

Raw as a receiver and blocker but has the size and speed to rank rather high in a weak draft field. "Legitimate matchup nightmare" - Rang. But (at this point) a better athlete than football player.

Pro Day (Brandt) - "...performed 19 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press and then stood on the rest of his numbers from the combine, where he was a top performer in his position group in the 40-yard dash, vertical jump and broad jump. Saxton looked very good in his positional workout, catching the ball really well. He showed that he hadn't lost any speed (he weighed five pounds more at the pro day than at the combine). Saxton is a prospect with good upside."

Combine: Arm: 32.0; 10-yd: 1.57; VJ: 36.0; BJ: 9-11; 20S: 4.50; 60S: 12.40

5 Jean Sifrin TE x UMass 4.84 6050 245 x

The 4.84 is a disappointment given his 4.67 pre-combine estimated time. Only one year of college ball..Considered an oversized receiver who is very strong and tough but somewhat raw, given his level of college play and what Rang terms "limited sample size

."Pro Day (Brandt) - NA

Combine: Arm: 33.4; 10-yd: 1.69; VJ: 33.0; BJ: 9-6; 20S: 4.60; 60S: 12.31

6 Devin Mahina TE x BYU x 6060 256 x

Nice size. Mainly known for his blocking (which, as we know, is an Arians priority).

Pro Day (Brandt) - NA

Combine: NL

7 Jeff Heuerman TE x Ohio State est. 4.68 6050 254 x

Relatively new to football (KInd of slightly smaller version of Sifrin only from a bigger college background and similar pre-combine forty time that needs to be verified). Good build-up speed...But inconsistent burst...durability concerns...needs to hone blocking skills. Nice catching radius.

Pro Day (Brandt) - "...ran the 40-yard dash in 4.80 and 4.83 seconds. He had a 34 1/2-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot broad jump. He was only able to do the bench press at the combine, but he was a top performer among tight ends in the event. Heuerman's had a recurring Lisfranc problem. He had an operation last spring and then another one in August. His production on the field dipped in 2014. He had 17 receptions for 207 yards and two touchdowns in 2014, but had 26 catches for 466 yards and four touchdowns in 2013. Prior to the foot injury, Heuerman was well-thought of as an NFL prospect."

Combine: Arm: 33.3; BP: 26

8 Blake Bell TE x Oklahoma 4.80 6060 252 x

Combine numbers suggest size and speed/quicks more than strength (the 14 Bench Press score is kind of underwhelming). Showed up in college as a heralded blue chip QB, but lost his job and was switched to TE. Good knowledge of the game...Bigger than prototypical size...Large target/physical ball-carrier...but needs to get stronger. Still raw position-wise and needs to learn his craft.

Pro Day (Brandt) - "...NA

Combine: Arm: 33.2; 10-yd: 1.67; BP:14; VJ: 33.0; BJ: 9-8; 20S: 4.32; 60S: 11.81

9 Tyler Kroft TE x Rutgers 4.75 6060 246 x

More a receiving specialist than a blocker. Good hands/elite concentration in traffic...but experienced significant decline in production between soph and junior seasons....not used much in passing offense in senior year..."thinks too much like a receiver"...

Pro Day (Brandt) - "...ran the 40-yard dash in 4.75 seconds on both of his pro-day attempts. He had a 34-inch vertical and a 10-foot broad jump. He completed the short shuttle in 4.50 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.18 seconds. He did not lift at the pro day. Kroft had a very good workout. He has good hands for the position and probably will be a late third- or early fourth-round pick."

Combine: Arm: 33.0; BP: 21

10 Nick Boyle TE x Delaware 5.00 6040 268 x

Senior Bowl - Considered "mixed bag" - High character/high motor guy who "passes the eyeball test" but is unpolished and unproven against top competition. Could be drafted on potential in a weak TE draft class.

Pro Day (Brandt) - "...ran the 40-yard dash in 5.00 seconds twice and stood on the rest of his results from the NFL Scouting Combine. Boyle is described as a very good blocker and is capable of serving as a backup long snapper, too. He's more of a blocker than a receiver because he lacks speed to gain separation."

Combine: Arm: 33.4; 10-yd: 1.78; BP: 20; VJ: 30.5; BJ: 9-4; 20S: 4.23; 60S: 11.65
