2015 Draft
UDFA 13. Cariel Brooks DB Adams St.

One more Keim little-known gem from a small college.

5100 200 Pro Day Forty: 4.55....BP: 14...VJ: 32.5...BJ: 9-3...20S: 4.32...3C: 7.00.

From NFL.com
Played in 10 games and recorded three interceptions. 2013: Played in 11 games and recorded three interceptions. 2012: Played in 10 games and recorded two interceptions. 2011: Played for the Pasadena (Calif.) City College.

STRENGTHS
Instinctive cornerback with solid ball skills and plus toughness. Can find ball in air and track it throughout. Excels in man-to-man coverage. Quick trigger to burst back on throws in front of him. Developed body type with willingness to stick his nose in and tackle.

WEAKNESSES
Short and will only be able to play slot. Can be mismatched by size. Shows some tightness. Tackle limitations due to size. Level of competition hasn't given him anything near what he will see in NFL.

DRAFT PROJECTION
Priority free agent

SOURCES TELL US
"He's a good football player. His biggest issue is that he's not freakish with his ballj skills and doesn't have freakish deep speed. If you are a short corner, you need to have one of those traits." -- NFC South area scout

BOTTOM LINE
Competitive and aggressive sub-package corner with man-cover skills and a willingness to do what is necessary to stay on the field, but he ran slow at his pro day. With his smallish stature and lack of blazing speed or quickness, he may have to wait until after the draft to get a phone call.

Here's what four draft guides have to say:

Pro Football Now (Arkush): Not listed

Lindy's: Not Listed

Beckett's Draft Guide - Not listed.

Pro Football Draft Guide - (Ranked #30 corner)...Undersized but very competitive Div. II corner...flashed great ball skills...also loves to mix it up in run support but too often flashes his shoulder for the big hit instead of wrapping up...Size and ordinary speed limit his upside, but could stick as a #3 or #4 CB or special teamer."

Bottom Line: If he can only run a 4.62 forty, he'd better have velcro hands and cut on a dime. (Note - Interesting write-up in GoErie, but you have to jump thru too many hoops to access it).
