Defensive Tackles
19 *A'Shawn Robinson 2 Alabama Jr 6035 307 1

A big guy who brings quickness and power to the position....Played every position across the D-line...Look and power of a grown man...Thick, big boned dude with power to control POA...Smooth athlete...uses hands well...strong ball awareness...A bit raw but could be a top 10 talent if he raises his game in his final college season...played in rotation for Tide, so endurance hasn't really been tested...Initial quicks not special...plays too upright....not explosive..."thinks too much"....stout vs. run but raw as a pass rusher...mostly a 2-gapper at Ala... "...excellent as a run down player and still developing as a pass rusher...a high pick!" - PFW (Gabriel)

Forty: 5.20...BP: 22...VJ:26.0 ...BJ:8-10...3C: 7.80 ...SS: 4.74

15 *Andrew Billings 1 Baylor Jr 6005 311 1

Best kid I've ever gone against" - WVa coach Dana Holgorsen...Brute strength, relentless motor and low COG..."A wrecking ball coming through the LOS." - PFDG...Converted OL...Undeveloped but with /very high upside...Leaving early but decision not easy...Fireplug..."A load in the middle"...Brute power/tough to block...at best when he keeps pad level low....PFDG describes him as "a bit straight-linish"...needs to improve ball awareness...will overextend & wind up on ground...scheme-versatile...techniques need to catch up to physical skill... " ...gets a lot of hype...not instinctive and is slow to find the ball...does little as a pass rusher...lacks the size to play in a 3-4 and redirection to play in a 4 - 3." - PFW (Gabriel)

Forty: 5.05...BP: 31...VJ: 27.5...BJ:.9-5..3C: 8.05...SS: 4.82

42 *Robert Nkemdiche 6 Ole Miss Jr 6034 294 1

Physically the top rated DT on some boards, but brings a boom or bust element to the table...PFDG calls to question his character...production...motor and work ethic...Disruptive penetrator typewith outstanding quickness and first step...Needs to reconcile potential with production...Started out a DE....added weight and moved to DT...Figures to be compared with Leonard Williams...above average athlete for size....good COD and lower body fluidity...can push the pile with brute strength or penetrate into the backfield...suspension for weed part of resume... "...motor is not consistently revved...He flashes dominating ability, just not consistently...off-field issues must be looked at closely..." - PFW (Gabriel)

54 Jarran Reed 8 Alabama Sr 6027 307 1

Overshadowed by Robinson..."Country strong"...classic space-eater....anchor of Tide defensive front...Classic 2-gap space-eater......A grinder who may be limited as a pass rusherStrong and effective at POA...very good COD for man his size...excellent field awareness in the middle of the action...punishing tackler...Stoned the running game at the Senior Bowl, onsistently standing up opponents...Tires easily...will stand up occasionally....lacks pass rush skills. Some off the field issues (DUI in 2014) but fine on the field...Compared to Dan Williams.... "...lacks the speed, quickiness, burst and overallrepertoire of moves to be a top pass rusher...Unless he develops his pass rush techniques, Reed will be limited to being a run down player." - PFW (Gabriel)

Forty: 5.21...BP: DNP...VJ: 31.0...BJ:.8-8..3C: 7.77...SS: 4.75

22 *Kenny Clark 3 UCLA Jr 6030 314 1-2

"Power packed run defender" - Brugler and Rang...Key issue with most big DT's is endurance and motor. Clark profiles as mixing physicality with heart...Young with room to develop...Played NT and on-technique DT in 4-3...Wrestling background...stout run defender who comes off ball low and hard....wins most leverage battles...Scheme-versatile...but just average size for position...impressive opening burst but maxes out quickly with just average COD...limited pass rushing upside but needs to produce more as an interior rusher...good effort in pursuit but often gets caught up in the trash... "...dominates when he is blocked one on one...excellent versus double teams...very strong and powerful...top instincts and is seldom fooled. As a pass rusher, he is mostly a bull rusher who can collapse the pocket." - PFW (Gabriel).

Forty: 5.06....BP: 29...VJ: 28.5...BJ:.8-6.3C: ...SS: 4.62

27 Sheldon Rankins 4 Louisville Sr 6011 299 1-2

"One of the better run defenders in this draft and growing as a pass rusher" - Brugler...Profiles as short, stubby and not especially big - should win leverage battles inside...Can stuff the "A"-gap but also has the lateral quickness to stunt and loop as a pass rusher...Terrific effort/relentless in pursuit...Tough guy (doesn't back down)...Nearly unblockable at Senior Bowl....uses an assortment of moves to get past blockers...displayed solid ball awareness and reading skills in Senior Bowl drills...heavy handed...very good initial pop....also lined up at DE to replace injured starter...needs to work on hand placement/punch and snap anticipation...will sometimes play too high...ideally suited for 3-technique in a 4-man front.... Compared to Kawann Short...ESPN projects him to be a first round pick based on one-year old tape.... ".. This is a fun guy to watch on tape because he plays so hard...but he has limitations...can play nose in some 3-4 schemes or onetechnique in a 4 - 3 scheme....will be best in rotation." - PFW (Gabriel).

Pro Day (Brandt) – Bears assistant coach Clint Hurtt reportedly rankins through his paces at the Louisville pro day. The Bears pick No. 11 overall, and have need on the DL...defensive coordinator Vic Fangio employs a 3-4 defense, and according to Rankins, he can play the nose guard spot and srtay on the field.; perhaps in a different role, on third downs.

Forty: 5.03...BP: VJ: 34.5...BJ:.9-10..3C: 7.44...SS: 4.59

37 *Austin Johnson 5 Penn State rJr 6040 314 2

What you see is what you get...Biggest value is as a space-eater who clogs the middle...Described by PFDG as a "wide bodied run-stuffer" and at worst, a 2-down NT......Thick-framed/big butt/broad shoulders...strong limbs...Stout at POA...heavy hands....locates ball quickly...more of an effort-guy than an explosion or technique specialist as a pass rusher...Better against the run than rushing the passer but does get some inside push..lacks exceptional initial quicks off the ball..doesn't always extend arms to fend off blockers the way he should...Has the proverbial non-stop motor that everyone looks for in a big DT..ESPN projects as a fringe first round talent.... "...After 10 - 15 yards, he slows up...can be a load against the run...stays low and anchors at POA...can get a push as a pass rusher but lacks moves and explosiveneness." - PFW (Gabriel).

Pro Day (Brandt) – “stood on his numbers from the Combine and had a good positional workout.

Forty: 5.32...BP: 25....VJ: 26.0...BJ:.8-3..3C: 7.84...SS: 4.75

96 Vernon Butler 9 Louisiana Tech Sr 6040 323 2

"Big Vern"....Attributes combine quicks and POA power...Could have played at sexier schools but loved La Tech...wide-hipped/carries weight well....good lateral quickness and range....strong upper body....almost unblockable at Senior Bowl...nifty swim move...sound ball-location skills and chasing speed..."active" hands....plays with energy and intensity till the final whistle...will play too "tall" at times (instead of bending knees and winning leverage battles...struggles when not squared up vs. blocker...narrow shoulders but active hands...nimble-footed but must play with lower pad level..Kind of raw and right now getting by on his considerable potential.... "...good initial quickness...some explosiveness coming out of stance...needs to develop better technique." - PFW (Gabriel)

Forty: 5.33...BP: 26...VJ: 29.5...BJ:.8-8..3C: 7.82...SS: 4.76...

111 Adolphus Washington 11 Ohio State Sr 6033 301 2-3

Athletic but raw....He's got the prototypical wide shoulders and long limbs but is a bit slow to diagnose and respond...Slow but steady improver with Buckeyes...Tall frame and fluid mover...can make plays away from the LOS....pretty good quicks off the snap...strong hands and long arms...punishing tackler with good technique...can move along LOS to stop screens...needs to play better in close quarters inside the proverbial phone-booth...Still developing recognition skills and instincts...First round potential if he can play at that level more consistently..,...will sometimes take a few plays off...Off the field red flag... "...On tape he is "just a guy"...has the tools to be very good if he puts in the effort...has some underachiever in him." - PFW (Gabriel).

Forty: 5.17...BP: 21...VJ: 27.0...BJ: 8-3..3C:8.06...SS: 4.79

41 *Chris Jones 7 Mississippi State Jr 6060 310 3

High risk/reward ex-BB player who has the athleticism to excel but who'll need the right guy to coach hinm up...A lot to work with, but needs to continue development (which is not necessarily a lock)....Played one and three techniques plus DE...Looks the part (big boned/good core strength)...quick first step/efficient spin-move/agile lower body and quick hands...Relentless in pursuit...can split double teams...singled out by coaches for improved practice effort and attention to detail...but high-hipped and more a waist bender....will play high too often...narrow based/loses leverage battles...lacks a sense of urgency, wears down easily...must control emotions better during games... "...he is big and athletic and can flash talent but you don't see it down after down..." - PFW (Gabriel).

Forty: 5.03...BP: 26....VJ: 24.5...BJ 8-10..3C: 7.44...SS: 4.62

120+ Sheldon Day 16+ Notre Dame Sr 6010 293 3-4

Short light quick guy who plays with a low COG......Often first off the snap...good movement skills....non-stop motor...energetic and relentless....never quits in pursuit...lacks ideal strength andPOA power....short-armed...too many late hit penalties/has to play smarter and with more discipline...good short-area agility....played some NT but is probably most effective outside the A-gap...Durablity an issue...has had to overcome various injuries...According to ESPN, he's hard to evauate because he's somewhat of a tweener (i.e. lacks bulk to be an every down DT but too short to move outside to DE)... "...an excellent inside pass rusher with moves and burst to the quarterback...stout at the point of attack...can be tough to block one on one....wants to be a great player...he is short which might limit him playing in a 4 - 3 scheme..." - PFW (Gabriel).

Forty: 5.07...BP: 21...VJ: 30.0...BJ:.8-6..3C: 7.44...SS: 4.50

116 *Maliek Collins 12 Nebraska Jr 6020 311 3-4

Short...Agile...explosive off the snap...deadly on twists and stunts...Great at blowing up offensive plays...Adds a pass-rush component to the DT position (though he could be more refined in that area)....Long and athletic enough to play outside, but DE probably not his best fit...Won't scare you with his size of physique but he does have impressive movement skills...light-footed, smooth hipped with above average body control....explosive first step....but lacks the brute strength needed for the position...stays velcro'd to blocks too long...will overrun the pocket....more a disrupter than a clogger. best as a 3-technique guy in a base 4-3....good hand usage...(Note - Short shuttle score suggests he's pretty agile)... "...Collins is going to have some scheme limitations...doesn't have the height or arm-length needed to play in a 3-4....looks best suited to play a three-technique in a one-gap 4 - 3...is talented must play with more consistency." - PFW (Gabriel)

Pro Day (Brandt) – "Collins had a great workout. The coaches tried to tire him out during his positional workout, but Collins was just as good at the end of the workout as he was in the beginning."
