1 Minkah Fitzpatrick x Alabama Jr 6000 204 x

USA Today - Just as Jalen Ramsey's versatility transformed the identity of their entire Jacksonville secondary. Fitzpatrick has a similar skill set....Size and skill set will allow him to line up anywhere in the defensive backfield and be highly effective. Best fit is probably at FS, but as was the case with Ramsey, NFL teams will likely be enticed by his size and length and try him at corner. Wherever he plays, Fitzpatrick is sure to be a big-time playmaker for a long time.

Lindy's - Ranked #1 as a CB - Standout regardless of where he plays...Has diagnostic skills, range and physicality to stand out at safety or the athleticism and competitiveness to be an outstanding CB...Off-the-charts intangibles...could be the cleanest prospect in this draft...Light on his feet, accelerates quickly and plays faster than he times...Commitment to film room is evident....has legitimate second gear...Jack of all trades...more quick than fast...

PFW - Big time playmaker with experience at both safety and corner and no apparent weaknesses (unless it's inability to run below 4.40)...Consistent tackler...good in man-coverage...Good safety size...VG athlete with speed, COD, quickness, flexibility and body control....Great ball skills and hands...can control game with his play...Moved to safety in 2016 and has been a difference-maker ever since...Great ball skills...good in both man and zone coverage...Used as a pass rusher (& very effective in that role)..."Better than Jalen Ramsay."

Combine Forty: 4.46 :

BP: 14...VJ:33...BJ: 121...

6 Quin Blanding xx Virginia Sr 6020 207 x

USA Today - A tackling machine who racked up over 100 total stops in each of his four seasons in Charlottesville, Could end up being a mid-round gem for the right team...One of the most experienced prospects in an extremely deep crop of safeties. His well-rounded skill set and leadership ability is likely to impress any NFL coaching staff.

Lindy's - Started every game at FS...resume looks better than his tape..Eye-popping production...Projects as a quality backup and core ST player...Instincts vs. pass are below average...unreliable tracking and ball skills...Lacks heavy hands...sloppy tackling habits...

PFW - Good overall athletic ability...reacts quickly to run plays and can come in low to fill...Very consistent tackler...can play man on a TE or RB but has problems with WR's...Adept at playing centerfield in a zone...short-arms...adequate range to the sideline...isn't a special prospet by any means - average instincts/not a speedster, average range, not the most physical guy - projects mainly as a place-holder.

Combine Forty: 4.63

BP: NA...VJ: .31.5...BJ: 122

5 Armanti Watts xx Texas A&M Sr 5100 202 x

USA Today - Could have been a fairly early pick in last year’s draft....A rangy playmaker with a nose for the ball, Watts has the instincts to sniff out run plays before they develop and bait opposing quarterbacks into making mistakes down the field. A deep safety class could make him a fantastic value if he’s still on the board in the middle rounds....

Lindy's - A sometimes player with NFL starting potential at FS...Above average sped/does make plays....Lacks functional strength and mechanics, leaving little room for error...averasge size...lacks make-up speed...

PFW - Ranks #3 as a safety - Has CB quickness, suddenness and speed...Excellent overall speed and athleticism...Very instinctive...Can make plays deep or at the sideline...Can play man; very good awareness and anticipation in zone...Loose-hipped...but undersized...fails to always wrap up and misses tackles...Would be a 1st-rounder if he was a little taller and tackled with more consistency...Should be very productive as a FS, although lack of height may cause him problems..

Combine Forty: NA

BP: 13...VJ: 35.0...BJ: 120...SS: 4.37...3C: 7.25

2 Justin Reid xx Stanford Jr 6000 207 x

USA Today - Versatile defender who can make plays in the box or downfield, he racked up nearly 100 tackles as a junior, including 6.5 for loss, adding five interceptions and six pass breakups. Combination of range, instincts, ball skills and physicality should make him an early selection, even in this year’s extremely deep class of safeties....NFL talent runs in the family(brother, Eric, who was a first-round pick in 2013). Has already established himself as one of the nation’s most complete safety prospects....

Lindy's - Listed as FS, but played all across the secondary (primarily in the box and over slot receiver)...Not the enforcement his brother, Eric, was...Worry-free prospect/product of sound coaching...No burner but quick to unlock his hips and accelerate...Football smaert...not shy about getting physical at LOS..."he's so driven to be good" - Stanford DC Mike Anderson...Lacks his brother's bulk...Comp: Kevin Byard

PFW - Very good safety size...solid in run support...very good zone cover guy...can struggle in man-coverage...Not a consistently aggressive tackler...Transisional skills are good but not great...Can beat by top-speed guys...Played much like a 3rd-corner for Stanford...lot of upside either as a FS or SS.

Combine Forty: 4.40 ...

BP: 16..VJ: 36.5...BJ: 128...SS:4.15 ...LS: ...3C: 6.65.

3 Marcus Allen xx Penn State Sr 6020 215 x

USA Today - A vocal leader who wears his passion for the game on his sleeve, Allen’s instincts and physical playing style should impress every NFL coaching staff. One of this year’s most complete defensive prospects,he'll be a huge steal if he falls out of the first round...If you’re looking for a versatile playmaker who can do it all on the field, the sideline and in the locker room, Allen fits the bill across the board.

Lindy's - Listed as a FS but mainly a box player...Heat seeking missile downhill...Stats dipped as a senior but he improved as a player...Smart striker with a high batting average as a tackler...Seeks out physical contact...Senior captain/carries himself with humility...Lacks body build and armor for a SS...A bit grabby on vertical coverage...only one career interception...Comp: Deone Buccanon.

PFW - A physical, aggressive safety with top instincts and reactions...One of the most physical safeties in this draft...Big time hitter - can play deep ior up in the box...Shows he can play man coverage but also aware in the zone...top ball ractions...Won't break 4.50 and can occasionally get out of control...Only one interception...Workout numbers may have a major impact on when he gets drafted.

Combine Forty: NA

BP: 15...VJ: 37.0...BJ: 127...SS: 4.32

10 Van Smith xx Clemson Jr 5110 186 x

Lindy's - Combine invitee has a lot of work to do to get above seventh round..

PFW - Active, aggressive and quick to react...Lacks size and strength...misses too many tackles...can get too overpowered....Tries to play bigger than his size...Plays an aggressive game, but lack of size will always hurt.

Combine Forty: 4.61

BP:NA...VJ: 29.5

4 Godwin Igwebuike xx Northwestern Sr 5110 213 x

BRS (Gollin) - Check out disoconnect between PFW write-up and 4.44 combine forty speed.

Lindy's - At his best as a run defender...Not the safety you'd trust in coverage...might be better suited to play SS...Charasmatic leader and senior captain...Well-conditioned/works overtime on it...Average athleticism...Aggressiveness sometimes undermined his intelligence...

PFW - Best at supporting the run...Adequate athlete and zone cover guy...Very competitive...average play speed....Will miss some OF tackles...Only average instincts...Very good college player whose game may not translate well to the NFL.

Combine Forty: 4.44

BP: 19...VJ: 35.5...BJ: 128...SS: 4.12...LS: 10.81...3C: 6.56.

PFW - NA

Combine Forty: NA

BP: ...VJ: ...BJ: ...SS: ...LS: ...3C: .

7 Jessie Bates xx Wake Forest xx 6010 200 x

USA Today A rangy playmaker with great instincts and ball skills, he could use a few pounds of quality bulk on his leaner frame if he wants to be as effective a tackler in the pros. Still just scratching the surface of his potential, and could be a valuable asset on the back end at the next level...Pleasantly surprising addition to this year’s already strong safety classand one of the nation’s more underrated defenders. Put up solid numbers in 2017, but his 2016 campaign was even more impressive, when he racked up 100 tackles and picked off five passes.

Lindy's - Gave up his final two years of eiigiblity...Well-rounded but not elite in any one area...Should compete for a starting role within his first few years...Instinctive/trusts what he sees...Fearless downhill defender...Lean-limbed - needs to fill-out...Would rather avoid blockers than run through them...Should have had more than six interceptions in college...

PFW - Smart, steady player who is almost always in good position...At his best as a xone safety...Good height and length...Good athlete: Smooth wiith some flexibility...Smart and instinctive...Good to VG zone player Reacts well to ball in the air and has good hands...but frame is slight without much growth potential...Not a big hitter...not very sudden...

Combine Forty: 4.50

PFW - NA

Combine Forty: NA

8 Cole Reyes   North Dakota   6010E 216E

Lindy's - FCS All American in 2016..

PFW - When healthy, one of the top safety prospects in this class...Dominated at lower level of competition...Good size with good to VG overall athleticism...Has speed/plays with a great deal of range...Excellent zone player...VG ball skills and hands...Durability concern (elbow)...Equally effective deep or in the box.

Combine Forty: NA

9 Damon Webb xx Ohio State Jxx 5110 209 x

Lindy's - CB background...Asked to fill Malik Hooker's shoes a year ago...Led the Buckeyes in interceptions (5)...Coaches glow over his maturation...Makes plays when he's in the area but not your traditional playmaker...Ordinary physical skill-set will make it hard for him to be anything more than a reserve...Responsible for making the on-field defensive calls...Undersized as a safety...gives up too much underneath...

PFW - Breakout season in 2017...Good athlete with speed and flexibility...Not real big/will take poor angles...Consistent in zone...willing vs. run...good tackler...very good ball reactions...Very steady player with quick reactions...a bit undersized but willing to hit. Projects more as a backup than a starter.
