Noah Fant x Iowa 6041 249 xx

"... Fant is an explosive athlete with the size and length to create mismatches on the perimeter. The 6-foot-5, 241-pounder plays like a "Jumbo" wide receiver but needs to show a little more nastiness ... - B Brooks Rates #13

Adequate size...Really good athlete...better blocker than most college TE's...Played a lot of football at iowa...Needs to get a little bigger...Can easily play "move" but blocking skills make him more - PFW

"Buyer beware - poor blocking")...Rare athlete with separation quicks...Great vertical (jump ball) game...Has been benched for long periods due to poor run blocking (Note - Desire and effort is there - it just isn't paying off in execution)...Needs to keep eyes up and scan the field after the catch...Wil drop easy passes - Lindy's

LBest pass-catching weapon in this year's draft class....ong, lanky and explosive....Has the speed to simply run away from defenders...Tracks ball well...Very fluid turning upfield....Can split out wide...but lets ball get into body...Lacks a physical edge as a blocker. -Athlon

Clearly an athletic wonder...Reliable pass catcher and big play threat... Set combine bests for the posiition in five measured categories (including 4.5 for the Forty)... - USA Today

Forty: 4.50...BP: 20...3C: 6.81...VJ: 39.5.

2
Irvin Smith Jr. x Alabama -- 6023 232 xx

B Brooks Rates #2

Fast and athletivc...cab block on the move or in-line...Looks almost like a big WR - PFW

Broke out in 2018...Exceptional blend of speed, balance and crisp route running...Soft hands and body control are strong points...Lacks top-notch height (& arm-length)...Tremendous off the ball blocker...Pays attention to small details....Will have to battle reputation as a "one year wonder." - Lindy's

Well-rounded TE....Impressive blend of size and athleticism....At his best as a pass catcher...has the speed to get a step...enough suddenness and COD to gain separation...a little sloppy with his routes - Athlon

Well-rounded prosprect with room to grow...Speed and route running can create mismatches with LB's - USA Today

Forty: 4.63....BP: 19...3C: 7.32...VJ: 32.5.

1
T.J. Hockenson - x Iowa 6046 251 xx

The one 1st-round caliber TE in this class - Gollin

Hockenson is a throwback player with the size, strength and power to overwhelm defenders in the running game while also dazzling as a pass catcher down the seams. He's a traditional tight end prospect who evokes images of former Giant Mark Bavaro in his prime.... - B Brooks Rates #1.

Would be an upgrade and immediately start on most teams...Very good TE size...Very good athlete with speed and body control...Can play "Y" or flexed out...Only a 3rd year soph - is he mentally ready to compete against men? - PFW

"Mr. Automatic - a first down waiting to happen"...Could be an all pro fullback...Ge can play inline or outside, H-Back or fullback...He's a banger - a collision coming at you...a mismatch for LB's or safeties...Great size...certifiably tough...exceptional blocker...Pretty clean player though he can be a bit wild in space...and maybe not quite as fast as other TE's in this class...Comp: Zach Ertz - Lindy's

At a time when most TE's are merely oversized WR's, Hockinson brings a dominating presence to the NFL...Seems to take genuine pleasure in run-blockling...As a catch and run threat, h's fluid and tracks the ball well...Has enough long speed to threaten the deep middle...Good but not great athlete who isn't going to blow safeties away...Not quite a young Rob Gronowski but built in that mold...Add in competitiveness and football character and you have a safe bet to be an immediate contributer - Athlon

Total package as a polished blocker...can catch in traffic - USA Today

Forty: 4.70....BP: 17...3C: 7.02...VJ: 37.5

10
Alize Mack x Notre Dame   6040 249 xx

Tall and long...knows how to use his height to his advantage...Good athlete with some speed...willing blocker...Underachiever....concentration-drops....Academic suspension...High profile recruit out of high school..."Something is missing..." - PFW

Character issues - academics, suspension...Highly regarded coming out of high school but hype outweighed his production...Has prototypical size, athletiism, and ball skills...Goes down easily...should be a better blocker...

Career never really got off the ground due to academics and injuries...Non-factor as a blocker...takes a moment to gather himself after the catch...needs to be more physical - Athlon

Forty: 4.70....BP: 22...3C: 7.27...VJ: 36

4
Caleb Wilson - x UCLA Sr 6042 240 x

Notable speed - Gollin

Scout says: "Wasn't blown away (by Wilson). It's a deep group...I'm not sure how he's going to distinguish himself. Doesn't do anything special to me." - PFW

Speedy but slender TE...Former HS quarterback with strong bloodlines...moved from school to school...Plays too fast for LB's to cover...Still raw at the TE position...Humble...Will appear to be lackadaisical (i.e. standing around at the snap)...Lazy habits...Foot injury (congenital?) - Lindy's

Oversized receiver with good COD,..Long arms and big frame...Lacks elite speed and size...Willing blocker but not enough for size...Unlikely to hold up at the POA...Below-average measurables - Athlon

Big target with good hands / Ran a 4.56 forty - USA Today

Forty: 4.56...3C; 7.20...VJ: 29.0

5
Zach Gentry - x Michigan Jr 6081 265 x

Tall and long...Large receiving radius...Soft hands...Good RAC skills...Narrow frame...willing blocker but not strong enough....Has upside due to athleticism but must add strength - PFW

Huge catch radius...can line up in the slot...decent blocker - Lindy's

(Not written up by Athlon)

Forty: 4.90.. BP: 123C: 7.4...VJ:29.5

6
Josh Oliver - x San Jose State Sr 6045 249 x

Adequate size with long arms and big hands...Willing but not that effective bocker...catches well...Must add bulk...Built like a "move"but plays more like a "Y." - PFW

"Mr. Wonderful" (i.e. looks the part with body beautiful frame and ideal physique)...A bit raw...Techniques have to catch up with his athletic upside...Footwork needs work (crosses legs when blocking)...Most targeted (99%) TE in the country...Can be used as an H-Back - Lindy's

Combo of size and athleticism should translate well to NFL...More of an oversized WR...Natural pass catcher and threat up the seam....Raw route-runner...Willing but underpowered blocker...More of a move guy...If he can refine his route running, he could emerge as a quality flex TE - Athlon

Forty: 4.63...BP: 22...3C: 7.21...VJ: 34.

8
Isaac Nauta - x Georgia Jr 6032 244 x

4.91 forty doesn't square with his Big Play reputation - Gollin

"... Nauta flew under the radar for most of the season, but the Georgia tight end is a natural pass catcher with a refined set of skills as a route runner.- B Brooks Rates #4.

Really good athlete for the position...Runs extremely well/with burst...effective deep...Strong after catch...Smallish...a bit raw....Tenacious blocker...Lots of upside for many NFL offenses. - PFW

Heralded 5-star recruit who didn't quite live up to expectatios (but came close)...Has pro-caliber size, frame and maturity...Big play threat...Highly competitive...Vocal leader...but streaky...will run before he catches & commit easy drops - Lindy's

There are times when he fits the bill but has never lived up to the promise of a a big freshman year in 2016....When he plays big, he can blot out defenders...Can look a bit stiff as a mover...Has smaller pass catching radius than size would suggeast....Sometimes plays too high as a blocker...At the very least, he should be an asset as an in-line blocker - Athlon

Forty: 4.91: ...BP: 19...3C: 7.45....VJ: 28

11+
Kendall Blanton - x Missouri x 6062 262 x

Not written up by PFW.

Tall, wide target with knack for finding the open seam...nice concentration and balance - Lindy's

Forty: 4.95...BP: 22...3C: 7.37...VJ: 31.0.

9
Dawson Knox - x Ole Miss x 6043 254 x

Lacks size, bulk and strength...Better player than stats indicate...Has speed and ball skills...Effort blocker...lines up mostly as a wing or flexed out...May be better pro than he was at college - PFW

Great size, athleticism and hands...Blocking remains a work in progress - Lindy's

(No write up by Athlon)

Forty: NA ....BP: 16...3C: 7.12....VJ: 34.5

7
Jace Sternberger x Texas A & M x x 6040 251

B Brooks Rates #5

Good to very good athlete....Interesting prospect who can play "move" or "Y."...Route tree is limited...Must add strength...Attended 3 schools in 4 years...Strong hands and ball skills - PFW

A transfer who exploded onto the NFL radar...One of the most explosive TE's in college football...Great mix of run, block and catch skills...Plays with a bit of a chip on his shoulders...Bit of a one-trick pony (with all-go seam-route)...Could use time in film room learning his craft - Lindy's...was a 5-9 HS QB who enjoyed a 6-inch growth-spurt. - Lindy's

One of the more impressive pure talents in this draft....Had one break out season...Explosive mover who looks more like a WR...Very competitive - runs with power after the catch and mixes it up a a blocker...Will stutter off the LOS...Upside is exciting enough for NFL teams to ignore his lack of college experience - Athlon

Good hands, runs very well, can get open... - USA Today

.Forty: 4.75....BP: 17...3C: 7.19...VJ: 31.5.

One of the nation's best lead-blockers..."Swiss Army Knife"- Athlon

2
