2 Isiah Simmons (LB) 1 Clemson   6036 238 1

Combine: Forty: 4.39...Wing: 81.8...BP: NA
VJ: 39.0...BJ: 132.0...3C: 8.03...20S: 4.87 ...60S: NA...
10th fastest forty across all positions...Only DB's and receivers scored higher... BJ only bested by one non-DB or WR...VJ tied him with 3rd among LB's...Average of all his metrics were higher than the averages for all other players at LB from 1987 - 2020.

Charlie Campbell - Strong safety who could also get consideration in a move to linebacker - a big strong safety who runs well for a player of his size. He could easily grow into a Will linebacker . He is a tough run defender who flies around the field and is a physical tackler. Simmons has good instincts with a nose for the football. Showed the NFL he can be a linebacker who can cover like a safety. ..A future top-20 pick who can do everything on the field. He is a sideline-to-sideline run defender with speed and physicality. He also covers well in pass coverage while being able to contribute to the pass rush as a dangerous blitzer. His 2019 tape is going to cause teams to fall in love. ...Over the ACC Championship Game and opening round of the playoffs, he totaled 13 tackles with two interceptions. Superb in pass coverage...Also superb against South Carolina, recording 10 tackles with a sack and a pass broken up, showing tremendous speed and athleticism, running with a slot receiver deep down the field in man coverage. Excellent against Florida State, helping to shut down Cam Akers while collecting eight tackles, a sack, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. Taking on North Carolina, Simmons had 10 tackles with a sack and pass broken up. He had 10 tackles against Georgia Tech in the season opener and was all over the field for the Tigers. In 2019, Simmons has 96 tackles with six sacks, one forced fumble, three interceptions and six passes broken up.

PFF- "Simmons is on another level athletically from linebackers across the country. He’d be an elite athlete for a safety, and his coverage skills are unsurprisingly elite already."

Lindy's - 101 tackles, (16 for loss), 8 sacks and three interceptions en route to winning the Butkus Award as the nation's top LB....One of the best athletes in the draft...built like a big LB but moves like an undersized safety...Deployed all over the field: LB. Edge Rusher, Safety, nickelback and outside CB - Dazzled in all areas...Instincts, effort and positive attitude will allow him to thrive anywhere...Isn't a classic thumper...zone coverage awareness could use some polishing....Much of his value comes in the ability to be deployed anywhere...Comp: Derwin James...."

McShay - "...Simmons is what every NFL team dreams of having at its disposal. He can rush the passer, he can stand up against the run and he can drop into coverage..."

USA Today - "No one else has his across-the-board athleticism"...Expect him to run step for step with elite RBs and post the best VJ and BJ Combine scores...May set the standard for what teams are looking for in hybrid-type defenders.

Grant Delpit
2 LSU   6025 213 1

Combine: Forty: NA...Wing: 74.5...BP: NA
VJ: 35.5...BJ: 115.0...3C: 7.15...20S: 4.35 ...60S: NA...

Charlie Campbell - In 2019, Delpit has 59 tackles, two interceptions, one sack and seven passes broken up. He had mixed games against Texas and Georgia, but played well versus Utah State and put together an impressive tape against Florida. Did not play as well as his sophomore season with some missed tackles, but he has shown some versatility, playing coverage downfield as a single high free safety, displaying man-coverage skills on tight ends, and serving as an eighth man in the box. Looks like he has the potential to be an interchangeable safety who can play strong or free safety with the ability to make a real impact on game day. Very productive for LSU in 2018, collecting 74 tackles, 9.5 tackle for a loss, five sacks, nine passes batted and five interceptions.... has excellent instincts to go along with a good combination of size and speed. As a freshman, Delpit totaled 60 tackles with eight passes broken up and an interception.

PFF - "Delpit’s playmaking ability at all levels of the defense is top-notch. He’s the definition of a modern safety."

Lindy's - Broke his collarbone in April 2018...Won the Thorpe Award as the nations top DB...Rare size, length, speed and fluidity...Big enough and fast enough to play almost everywhere....Menace in zone coverage & projects as a terrific man to man weapon...Should fit any shceme and make an innediate impact...Tackling is the biggest concern...uses his arms to dive at the ball-carrier's legs, coming up empty too often...It's not that he shies away from contact but he's not the physical finisher you'd expect...Comp: Derwin James..."

McShay - "...rangy... Delpit didn't have the best season at LSU, but (his pro coach) would get the most out of him..."

42 Ashtyn Davis 3 California   6018 202 2

Combine: Forty: NA...Wing: 75.2...BP: 14
VJ: NA...BJ: NA....3C: NA...20S: NA ...60S: NA...

Gollin - Lindy write-up was one of the most glowing I've seen written this year...

Charlie Campbell - Some team sources said they graded Davis in the fourth round. They feel he is not strong or physical enough for the NFL because he misses a ton of tackles. Some say he doesn't appear to have the desire to tackle and label some of his lack of physicality as criminal. They think he is going to get run over and blocked out of plays consistently at the next level. They also note Davis is athletic, but does not have the instincts of a rangy centerfielder. Some sources compare Davis to Chris Conte. Some in the media have pushed Davis as a high pick, but multiple team sources say that is too rich to them. They didn't see a first-rounder on tape, but they do think Davis might rise in the pre-draft process should he perform well in post season workouts, interviews and all star action. Has some upside. In 2019, he recorded 55 tackles with two interceptions, four passes defended and a forced fumble.

PFF - "Davis comes from a track background, and it shows up on his tape. He can get from the middle of the field to the sideline with the best of them. Versatility won’t be his strong suit, though, as he was a different player in the box."

Lindy's - Senior Bowl participant...Speedy, instinctive and hard-hitting free safety whose maniacal playing style will endear him to coaches and teammates...Easy athleticism with greasy knees, and loose hips....Tops out with above aversge speed...Hyper aggressive...Trusts his eyes and attacks the ball...Has a lanky build but is a determined thumper...Top recognition skills...quick to read, runs with no fear...Impressive body control, timing and hand-to-eye coordination...Reliable open field tackler but takes risky angles...Tasmanian Devil playing style does result in some mistake in coverage...Comp: Damarious Randall...."

USA Today - Minor groin surgery kept him out of senior Bowl...Expected to post high forty, VJ and BJ marks at the Combine...

52 Brandon Jones 4 Texas   5112 198 2

Combine: Forty: NA...Wing: 74.5...BP: NA
VJ: NA...BJ: NA...3C: NA...20S: NA ...60S: NA...

Charlie Campbell - Jones collected 86 tackles, one sack, two interceptions and four passes defended in 2019. He is a fast defender, but an undersized strong safety who struggles in coverage and lacks strength and explosion as a tackler. Jones had a quality junior season for the Longhorns, totaling 70 tackles with two interceptions and three passes broken up over 10 games. A high ankle sprain also hindered Jones for a lot of last season, and he had surgery on the ankle in February of 2019. Jones is expected to be ready for the 2019 season. For the NFL, Jones is more of a backup safety and special teams contributor.

Lindy's - Compactly built fluid athlete with impressive COD and accelleration...At his best covering one-on-one....silky smooth turn and run capabilities as well as good route recognition....takes sharp angles to the ball in pursuit...In on a lot of tackles but is too often a duck & swipe ankle-biter....fails to protect the boundary and force ball-carriers back inside...Comp: Tashaun Gipson..."

64 JR Reed 5 Georgia   6007 202 3

Combine: Forty: 4.54...Wing: 76.4...BP: 15
VJ: 34.0...BJ: 130.0...3C: NA...20S: NA ...60S: NA...

Charlie Campbell - In 2019, Reed had 54 tackles with an interception and seven passes broken up. He was a solid and dependable safety for Georgia. Reed is smart and reliable defender who would be drafted higher if he had a better skill set. A quality run defender who could use more weight on his frame.

Lindy's - Permanent team captain...Looks the part of an NFL safety...Made all the defensive calls for the Bulldiogs...high cut frame allows him to gobble up yardagein a hurry...steady, technically sound tackller..with a reliable high to low strike zone....Father, Jake played 12 years in NFL....Looks like an NFL safety but displays only average speed...Has just an average burst out of his cuts and accelleration...Requires an ally to come up aggressively in run support...Comp: Jacquan Johnson..."

x Hamsah Nasrildeen 13 Florida St   6040 215 3

Not on Combine List

66 Xavier McKinney, 6 Alabama   6004 201 x

Combine: Forty: 4.63...Wing: 75.5...BP: 19
VJ: 36.0...BJ: 122.0...3C: NA...20S: NA ...60S: NA...

Gollin - Funny how many draft mavens project him to go to Dallas in round one...

Charlie Campbell - Broke out in 2018 as Alabama's best defensive back. He totaled 73 tackles with 10 breakups, two interceptions and one forced fumble on the year. McKinney played strong safety in 2018, but he is versatile and could play more free safety in 2019 with Deionte Thompson in the NFL. McKinney had 95 tackles with three interceptions, three sacks, five passes defended and four forced fumbles in 2019. He was a steady, good and versatile safety. Can to be a jack-of-all-trades who can contribute in man coverage on tight ends and wide receivers, can play deep zone free safety, also has the strength to tackle and can be the eighth man in the box.Has size, speed, athleticism and upside for the NFL.

PFF - "McKinney is a jack of all trades for the Alabama defense. He’s capable of playing in a Derwin James-Jamal Adams role, but we’ve yet to see him really dominate in any of those facets."

Lindy's - Won Defensive MVP honors at Orange Bowl...Quality all-around athlete...with the ability to play all over the field...Not quite at the same level as Minkah Fitzpatrick, but used in many of the same ways...in the box, slot, deep half, and deep middle...not afraid to get his hands dirty, showing toughness and physicality.../nose for the football: 5 interceptions, 20 pass breakups, 5 forced breakups, 5 forced fumbles and a fumble recovery the past 2 years...Lacks the elite athleticism to be a full-time player deep....likely best served in an attacking role...instincts are inconsistent....doesn't always track routes with great awareness...Comp: Marcus Maye..."..,

McShay - "...McKinney has some range as a deep safety -- he pulled in three interceptions on the back end for Bama last season...."

68 Kyle Dugger, 7 Lenoir-Rhyne
  6009 217 x

Combine: Forty: 4.49...Wing: 78.5...BP: 17
VJ: 42.0.... BJ: 134.0....3C: NA...20S: NA ...60S: NA...

Tied for second among all players in VBJ...6th best BJ...

Charlie Campbell - A small-school prospect who made it onto NFL teams' preseason watch list....Had a 30-yard pick-six to open the season against St. Augustine's. In 2019, he totaled 31 tackles with two interceptions and four passes broken up. ...Several sources believe Dugger has the potential to be a second-day pick. Sources say the big and fast Dugger has an excellent skill set - has xcellent numbers for a pro safety, and he is said to play very fast, flying around the field. They also believe he will work out very well before the draft and could be a riser throughout the draft process. He put his name on the map in 2019, with high-level scouts and brass having gone to watch him. If he does well in the pre-draft process, he could be a second- or third-round pick next April. He has a skill set with some size and quickness for the next level. Going to a top all-star game and performing well there is important for Dugger's draft grade.

Lindy's - Played in just 7 games due to injury but claimed the Cliff Harris Award given to the top Division II defensive player...Physical prototype for the NFL...Impressive awareness and positional versatility...Lives up to his impressive size when he has a runway - delivering teeth-rattling hits...Reportedly clocked at 4.41 - 4.45 forty prior to 2019 season....A man among boys at this level...Requires a close look by team doctors ( hand injury)...Comp: Kevin Byard..."....

USA Today - Has all the earmarks of a "sleeper" but hardly an unknown in scouting circles...Could line up as a S or a weakside LB...Should excel on special teams as he makes the adjustment from small school to the pros...

81 Alohi Gilman 8 Notre Dame   5015 201 x

Combine: Forty: 4.60...Wing: 74...BP: 17
VJ: 32.0...BJ: 119.0.....3C: 6.81...20S: 4.08 ...60S: NA...

Lindy's - Began his college career at Navy...74 tackles and three forced fumbles as a red shirt junior in 2019....Played a variety of roles...Capable of locking up TE's ...Fast eniugh to close on the ball in the run game and underneath passes...Reliable tackler...Strong enough to disrupt route timing with his hands...Not the greatest straight-line mover...Technique as a tackler needs some work...Rarely gets chances to play the ball in the air...Comp: Shawn Williams..."...

PFF - "Gilman is a perfect box or split field safety with the way he comes downhill on routes. He was as sound as any safety in the country last season."

x Kenny Robinson Jr. 12 West Virginia   x x x

Not on Combine List

PFF - "Robinson was reportedly ousted from West Virginia over the summer and still hasn’t found a home for this upcoming fall. He’s a former cornerback who is not afraid to lower the boom over the middle of the field."

84 Julian Blackmon 9 Utah   5117 187 x

Combine: Forty: NA...Wing: NA...BP: NA
VJ: NA...BJ: .....3C: NA...20S: NA ...60S: NA...

Lindy's - standout HS wide receiver...Long lean DB with light feet and smooth hips...Position-versatile...Generally reliable open field tackler....Flashes ability to be a true striker, dropping his shoulder into receivers...Big play magnet....Impressive timing and body control on his leaps as well as as above average ball skills for the position...Looked timid in first season at safety...Has not shown the necessary sideline to sideline range...Some scouts question his aboility to process what's in front of him...Was more hesitant as a tackler in 2019...A bit thin in the lower body...Comp: Marcus Williams..."

Non-contact knee injury might warrant additional examination...If OK, he projects to a versatile backup DB who can cover TE's and match up vs. the run..

89 Jeremy Chinn 10 So. Illinois   x xx x

Combine: Forty: 4.45...Wing: NA...BP: 20
VJ: 41.0...BJ: 138.0.....3C: NA...20S: NA ...60S: NA...
2nd best BJ of alll Combine players...6th best VJ...8th best BP.

Lindy's - Began his career as a CB...Size and physicality are on Chinn's side...Stood out at Senior Bowl (tested at LB, CB and S by the Lion coaching staff...already established as a playmaker...Looks the part of a big-time safety...Gliding, effortless runner who alters his gait and speed to easily run with opponents...Long arms and terrific hand-to-eye coordination...Excellent ball skills, intercepting 13 of 31passes he got his hands on during college career...Wingspan to swallow up ballcarriers...Competitive wrap-up tackler who can deliver a blow when he has a lane...Aggressive around the pile...High marks for intangibles - coaches and teammates rave about his maturity and commitment...Like a lot of taller athletes, Chinn loses a step in transition and tops out quickly, raising doubts for some about his true speed...Some teams view his best posiition fit as LB...History of sitting with minor injuries...Comp: Micah Hyde..."

130 Nick Coe 15

"

119 Antoine Winfield Jr 14

"

93 Tanner Muse 11 Clemson   x x x

Combine: Forty: 4.41...Wing: NA...BP: 20
VJ: NA...BJ: 124.0..3C: NA...20S: NA ...60S: NA...
2nd fastest forty among all safeties...4th best safety at BP and 10th in BJ

Lindy's - Played a variety of roles...mostly as a center field safety...Moved into more of a hybrid role near the LOS in 2018...Excellent size and length for the position...plays with a physical edge...experience lining up all over the place; from: center field to deep-half safety to box safety/dime LB or the overhang player in nickel packages, ...Aggressive moving forward...Sharp awareness in zone...but not mobile enough to survive full time as safety in the NFL....Doesn't have overly quick feet...A potential matchup piece against TEs, but rarely saw man-on-man assignments...Likely transition to LB...Comp: Kyzir White..."
