1 Nick Bosa - Ohio State EDG x DL29 Oklahoma   6036 266 x

"... Bosa is ahead of the game as a refined rusher with a diverse repertoire of moves. The Ohio State star can win with finesse or power while exhibiting exceptional hand-to-hand combat skills on the way to the quarterback.- B Brooks - Rates #1)

Terrific edge player (best in draft)..Non-stop motor...exceptional hand use...Can play on left or right side...Exceptional first-step quicks...Not as tall or has bulk as brother...Very quick and explosive...Great pursuit..Will be used mainky as a pass rusher..."Gets it" when it comes to knowing what it takes to be a pro. - PFW

Plug 'n play Pro Bowl caliber edge rusher...Very deep blood lines..."Carved from granite"...Pound for pound one of the most powerful players in the 2019 draft class...Explosive with good core flexibvility to bend around the corner...(Pouncing lion metaphor - "...on the prowl...deftly moving through traffic and pouncing on his prey with startling speed and explosive power...")....Array of pass rush moves...Excellent coordination between upper and lower body...Plays with terrific knee bend and pad level....Looks shorter than he actually is...question whether he may be physically maxed out...Medics will want to stay on top of the injury...Some grousing about his shutting down the rest of 2018 to prepare for the draft...Comp: Cameron Wake - Lindy's

No. 1 prospect in the country...Big explosive athlete with a relentless motor...at his best working on the edge...a maestro with his hands...outstanding setting the edge on the run game...Medicals (core muscles) are an issue...talent and on-the-field demeanor erase 99.9 concerns about his love of football - Athlon

Very powerful player who can shed single blocks and beat double team to get to the ball - USA Today

Forty: 4,79..Ten: 1.60...BP: 29...3C: 7.10...VJ: 33.5....BJ: 9'8...Hand: 10.8..Arm: 33.0

3 Clelin Ferrell EDG y Clemson   6043 264 x

Tall...long arms...could add 20 lb of bulk...Playmaker...Lacks play-speed...question whether he can drop in coverage...Very good pass rusher but college skill doesn't always translate into production as a pro...More of a left end than a right end...Team that drafts him must feel confident he can get to 280 - 285 lbs or else he'll be limited to duty as a DE - PFW

Other edge rushers may have one or two traits that stand out, but few if any have so wide an array of weapons (size, strength, burst, instincts and technique)...Outstanding Clemson DL makes it difficult to isolate Ferrell's overall impact...Production comes from RDE vs. LT's...Built like he was designed for a DE by Central Casting...Impressive power as a bull-rusher...2017 tape shows Ferrell catching Lamar Jackson from behind...Steadily improving his ball-awareness skills...Very effective use of long arms and strong hands...Effective vs. run...Mixes very good technique with impressive physical upside...Might be better FB player than athlete...Sup-elite forty time suggests he'd be more effective down than he'd be dropping off in a LB role...A bit overly cautious pursuing downfield....Comp: Chandler Jones - Lindy's

" ... - B Brooks - Rates #4 with no commentary)

Extremely productive (racked up 21 sacks in past 2 seasons)...very good closing burst...handles TE's with relative ease...aided by star players who lined up along side him...not an elite athlete/not overly explosive at the snap...wins with effort (which doesn't always mean much in the NFL)...Might not be a true game-wrecking presence off the edge but should surely contribute as a quality #2 pass rusher - Athlon

20 tackles for loss, 3FF's, 11.5 sacks in 2018...Very powerful player who also hustles - USA Today

.Forty: DNP...Ten: DNP...BP: 25...3C: 7.26...VJ: DNP....BJ: DNP...Hand: 10.5...Arm: 34.1

13 Jaylon Ferguson - Louisiana Tech EDG x Auburn   6-5 256 x

Tall with long arms...Productive pass rusher (45 career sacks)....Good athlete with speed and COD...Must add to his pass rush arsenal...Hasn't reached his ceiling talent-wise...Lacks consistent hustle...needs to get stronger and tighten up his body...Should be drafted early due to upside/& should contibute right away - PFW

Stock is moving downward...Twitchy long-armed (34") pass rusher with 45 career sacks...but (despite one sack at Senior Bowl) he failed to impress scouts in Mobile...Often wins with explosive burst...Good leg drive for bull-rush...Plays a finesse brand of football, but often lets overly aggressive style lead him to lose contain and fall prey to misdirection and play action - Lindy's

Not Listed in Combine

All time FBS sack leader (45 - passing Terrell Suggs)...Bull rush was best in collefge FB last seson...Relentless motor...face-up pass rusher who lacks the flexibility to bend the edge....He'll have to win with power...Some risk here, as Ferguson's power game may not translate to the NFL....but there's enough production to suspect he'd at least be a quality #2 - Athlon..

Forty: 4.70U...Ten: ...BP: ...3C: ...VJ: ....BJ: ...Hand:...Arm:....:

2 Josh Allen     Kentucky   6-5 258

Not listed in combine

Very good size and athleticism...runs well with very good COD...Explosive...quick off the ball...stays low...Turned most of his weaknesses into strengths...Has become a complete player who can play in any scheme... - PFW

" .... Allen is a cheetah off the edge with outstanding first-step quickness and an explosive closing burst. He can turn the corner on dip-and-rip maneuvers that showcase his exceptional balance and body control.- B Brooks (Rates #2)

"More decorated than a wedding cake"...Ideal blend of size, athletiism and production vs. elite competition...One of the "safer" prospects in this year's draft....Checks all the physical boxes (Broad shouldered, long-armed, muscle bound and loose hipped)...Sudden off the snap....Explosive counter back inside...Good core flexibility to dip under tackles and turn the corner...Impressive agility and ball-awareness....Physically reliable tackler, but more finesse than physical....Fails to recognize cut-blocks and will get chopped too often...Durable but slender build invites concern...Comp: Clay Matthews - Lindy's...

A true edge burner who brings the total package in the passing game....Would have been a fringe 1st-rounder had he entered the draft a year earlier...But he he opted to return to school and went from good prospect to borderline elite...Flexible, agile and fast-bending the edge....Tremendous get-off and initital quickness . Ability to dip and get around the corner is as good as anyone in the draft...Doesn't quite play up to his size...Very good dropping into coverage...sideline to sideline range...As a run defender, he's not always effective setting the edge....Much better in pursuit......closing burst is as good as it gets - Athlon

17 sacks in 2018...Qucik burst with power as a pass rusher - USA Today

Forty: 4.59U...Ten: ...BP: ...3C: ...VJ: ....BJ: ...Hand:...Arm:....:

4 Rashan Gary     Michigan   6043 277

Speed/size ratio is off the charts - Gollin

Good natural size...Long arms...runs well..plays with strength and explosion...can fit in at LE, 5-tech or 3-tech...But doesn't consistently play with intensity/sometimes will fail to show up... - PFW

Good natural size with frame to get bigger...Long arms...runs well...Plays with strength and explosion...Good hand use...can play 3 positions...Has as much talent as any defensive lineman in this draft/problem is a lack of consistent intensity... - PFW

" .... Gary is a freak athlete with enough versatility to play inside or outside on the line. Although he's a better athlete than player at this point, the Michigan standout is a top-five talent. - B Brooks (Rates #3)

Looks the part...but not a true sack meister (9.5 sacks in 3 years)....Should be a long-term starter with position and scheme versatility...has upside to become a true difference-maker...NFL-caliber frame...can simply ragdoll blockers....Shows blue-collar toughness vs. run....Looks comfortable rushing out of a 2-point stance and even dropping into coverage...Terrific closing speed...Can be a tick late to the snap when he guesses wrong...Lacks elite explosive...shoulder injury in 2018...Neeeds to be more aware of passing lanes...Comp: Everson Griffith - Lindy's

As talented as any defensive player in the draft as far as natural gifts are concerned...plays with violence in close quarters...has the quicks to simply blow past blockers..uses violent hands to bully blockers...more than enough strength playing off the edge...can run with RB's and TE's...but never played up to potential...production not always up to expectations...nagging shoulder problems...will have to develop a more creative approach (instead of pure athletiism) as a pro...All pro potential if he reaches his ceiling...Comp: Jadeveon Clowney - Athlon

Forty: 4.58...Ten: 1.63...BP: 26...3C: 7.26...VJ: 38.0....BJ: 10'0...Hand: 9.6...Arm: 34.2

12 Zach Allen - EDG x Boston College   6041 281 x

Lindy scout's comment about getting hands up in the passing lanes made my heart melt - Gollin

"The kind of player most coaches will want to have on their team..Will contribute right away...."Very productive...played inside and outside...Explosive first step...very good hand usage..might not have the speed required for playing outside..Fun guy to watch on tape...Can be a 4-3 three-tech or a 3-4 five-tech... - PFW

Emerged as breakout star in 2017...High floor (due to size, strength and lunchpail demeanor) but has a low athletic ceiling in other aspects of game (made plain when he went up vs elite blockers during Senior Bowl week)..."Safe" second round prospect...Broad-shouldered, "country strong", thick lower half...good lateral agility...Big and strong enough to handle 2-gap respomsibility...Reads the eyes of the QB and gets his hands up to block passing lanes...Not quick twitch...stiff in midsection...needs wide arc to scrape the corner - Lindy's

Big, powerful and extremely productive at BC...Good initial burst at snap with lower body power, strong hands and balance to control blockers in run game...Rarely moved in run game...Relentless motor and outstanding effort...not an edge burner...can play a large number of snaps without wearing down...stiff hipped - lacks lateral skills...temperment, technique and ability to stop the run give him a high floor...Solid but not a game changer...suitable for 3-technique as a pass rusher - Athlon

Forty: 5.00...Ten: 24...BP: .24...3C: 734...VJ: 32.0....BJ: 9'4...Hand: 19.1...Arm: 34.8

5 Montez Sweat - EDG x Miss State   6056 260 x

Medical red-flag (heart issues) has been no secret and his people feel the matter has been successfully dealt with, but it's something clubs will want to take a long, hard, constant look at...Forty time is super elite - Gollin

Strength is speed and pass-rushing skills off the edge...Long arms and strong, active hands...Quick off the ball/can bend to get under opponent...Tall narrow frame with limited growth potential...Limited experience in coverage...natural pass rusher...best suited for a 3-4/early experience should be a designated pass rusher - PFW

No defensive lineman offers a more exciting blend of physical traits than Sweat...Well-travelled - HS in Georgia, Mich State contract (which needs full vetting) and then, Miss St...Speed, length and power support a common ranking of #1 DE in draft...Long (35.5") arms....Still technically raw/relies too much on hia natural tools...needs greater hand strength...Comp: Aldon Smith - Lindy's

.... - B Brooks (Rates #5 with no commentary)

Prototype build for an edge rusher...Closes fast on QB...Relentless/will get his share of ssecond-effort sacks...Too often gets pushed beyond pocket...Plays too high/gives up too much ground and will be a liablity vs run early in pro career - Athlon

Ran 4.40 forty...Length is tantalizing...room to get stronger...can set the edge vs. run - USA Today

Forty: 4.41..Ten: 1.55...BP: 21...3C: 7.00...VJ: 36.0....BJ: 10'5...Hand: 10.5...Arm:. 35.8

6 Brian Burns - EDG x Florida State   6046 249 x

Strength is initial quicks and speed off the edge...Tall with long arms but lean-framed/lacks bulk...Game is built on speed/not power...Limited pass rush repertoire...Good initial quicks and flexibility and quicks to turn the corner...Best as 3-4 LB but never had to drop into coverage - PFW

He fits trend of sacrificing size for speed in order to intimidate QB's...Burns "left scorch marks" on would-be blockers...In 2018 Burns racked up 52 tackles, 15.5 for loss, 10 sacks and 3 FF's...Passes the eye test (broad shoulders, long arms and Vee-shaped torso)....Fires off ball to threaten corner...Effectively bends knees to get under reach of tackles...Has sudden swim move...A bit stiff in midsection...Lacks experience in coverage...Comp: Marc Barron - Lindy's

Long and bendable...get-off and quickness will make him a force as an edge rusher...Plays with good motor...but quite thin (& functional strength matches the look)...Finesse player...lack of power may require a specialized scheme to help him with pass rush responsibilities - Athlon.

23 career sacks...Impressive speed/can drop off in coverage - USA Today

Forty: 4.53...Ten: 1.61...BP: DNP...3C: 7.01..VJ:36.0 ....BJ: 9'9...Hand: 10.0...Arm: 33.8

11 Oshane Ximinies - EDG x Old Dominion   6-4 245 x

Productive pass rusher (20.5 sacks in 2 seasons...Knows how to use his hands...plays bigger than his measurables...Marginal size..must prove he can drop into coverage - PFW

Wins with speed...Mostly held in check at Senior Bowl (weighed in 10 lbs lighter than expected)...Stronger than he looks...Adept at batting down passes in lanes...Not asked to drop into coverage in college but shows intriguing agility...Started as hand-in =-dirt defender but lacks sand in pants to continue playing down full time...not as explosive upfield coming from a 2-pt stance - Lindy's

Has an NFL skill-set...quick off the snap and a fluid, coordinated athlete...crafty with relentess motor...size is going to be an issue...he's not going to drop and play in space as a LB...Purely an edge guy...the good news is that he can get to the QB. but it's questionable whether he'll be more than a passing-down specialist in the pros - Athlon

Forty: 4.70U...Ten: ...BP: ...3C: ...VJ: ....BJ: ...Hand:...Arm:....:

8 Joe Jackson - EDG x Miami (Fla.)  6042 275 x

All-out competitor... good athlete with speed and quicks...Came on strong last season...quick off ball/stays low...Stromg at the point...disruptive vs. the run... not fooled by misdirection...Tight hips...frame may be maxed out...More suited as a 4-3 DE - PFW.

Below the radar type prospect...Led team in sackds in 2018....well rerspected by svouts...Long arms, loose hips & imposing frame...Terrific effort in pursuit...praying mantis type arms snag ballcarriers as they pass by...Morre quick than fast...some wasted motion off snap...Plays a bit high...lacks experience rushing off left side...elbow warrants monitoring - Lindy's

Improved markedly over 3 college seasons...Added 30 lbs...Long with good explosiveness....Can still bend the edge and closes fast...Impressive motor/can chase down 2nd effort sacks...Sets the edge vs. the run...Needs to do a better job of locating the ball in the run game...Tries to run thru blockers on way to QB (it worked in college but seldom will in the pro game)...Boom or bust prospect...as raw as anyone in this draft but but has an impressive combo of explosiveness, power and overall athleticism but can he be coached up? - Athlon

Forty: DNP...Ten: DNP...BP: 22...3C: DNP...VJ: 27.0....BJ: 9'1...Hand:10.0...Arm:...34.1

14 Jordan Brailford - EDG 7x Oklahoma State   6025 252 x

Undersized pass rusher (32" arms)....acks size and bulk to play every down...struggles vs. run...Might make it as a designated NFL pass rusher but will have to learn how to cover if he's to play in an NFL 3-4 - PFW

Early declarer...classic "tweener" (too small to play DE/below average instincts for a LB)...Average knee bend and flexibility...Use of hands nonexistent...mid-to-late round proepsect...needs to develop better awareness and technique - Lindy's

Work in progress/short on refined pass rush moves...Coming off break-out year...fairly explosive mover with good burst...good motor/will chase down ball in pursuit...Needs better awareness as run defender...should appeal to 3-4 teams as development prospect - Athlon

Forty: 4.65...Ten: 1.62...BP: .22...3C: DNP...VJ: 37.5....BJ: 10'6...Hand: 9.1...Arm:. 32.5

9 Austin Bryant - EDG x Clemson   6037 271 x

Best suited for 4-3...Tall and long with some straight-line quickness...Hip tightness slows COD... - PFW

Played in a variety of roles..,#4 ranked of Clemson's four man front...Impressive initial agility and quicknss for man of size...Looks part of edge rusher...Impressive power as a tackler....Obvious athletic abolity...just scratching the surface...Lacks strength at POA...Stands up on contact & loses leverage battle...Lacks a wide variety of pass rush moves...Had surgery on both feet - Lindy's

Big performance vs. Notre Dame...Good at ball-location...works hard in pursuit...middling athlete who doesn't play as big as size suggsts....cannot cover two gaps...doesn't bend the edge...seems destined to be a backup - Athlon

Forty: DNP...Ten: DNP....BP: DNP....3C: DNP....VJ: DNP.....BJ: DNP....Hand: 9.6...Arm: 34.6

10 Chase Winovich EDG x Michigan   6030U 252U x

High motor snap to whistle player...Former HS quarterback...Tough and competitive...Not big but plays the run very well...Good but not great speed...had surgery (ankle) in final college year..Smart...3-4 clubs will work hin out to see if he can play on his feet... - PFW

Country strong but far from sculpted...Stout compact frame...some obvious physical limitations that he overcomes by bullying opponents with length, strength, technique and hystle...Master at guessing the snap count...excels on counter moves...wide variety of pass rush weapons...Holds up better in run support than size suggests...best weapon is his hands ("revolving cynder blocks")....Almost maniacal style...relentless in pursuit...Stiff hipped and high cut...Forced to run a wide arc due to core stiffness...Does not appear to be fluid enough to carry responsibilities to next level - Lindy's

Technician on the edge...variety of moves and advanced hand usage...outstanding motor...high marks for leadership and toughness....wins with technique and tenacity...Limited ceiling - some limitations as an athlete/more of a straight line mover...Will play his way onto a roster as a DE or standup pass rusher - Athlon

Forty: DNP...Ten: DNP....BP: DNP....3C: DNP....VJ: DNP.....BJ: DNP....Hand: DNP...Arm: DNP

7 D'Andre Walker EDG x Georgia   6023 251 x

Big part of Georgia "D...But undersized...Plays with strength explosiveness and quick activie hands...Might not be big but can bull-rush...If he had protytypical size to go with outstanding skill-set, he'd be a premium round prospect...quick hands...plays contain well...very good in pursuit...Reacts quickly and finds the ball... - PFW

A flexible coordinated athlete...Not as well known as other edge rushers but on the upswing...Country strong...Passionate in pursiuit...Limited reps in coverage...moved around a lot in Georgia schemes...Needs to become more aware of passing lanes.... Versatile...Should be off most boards by Day 2...Looks and plays bigger than his 6-3 height (maybe it's his long arms, broad shoulders or thick lower half) - Lindy's

(Athlon ranks #5 as OLB) - Jack of all trades...good instincts when dropping into coverage...Fluid mover...product of what has become a "factory" for the NFL...High FB IQ...Lacks explosion/not especially twitched-up...Comp: Connor Barwin - Athlon

Forty: DNP...Ten: DNP....BP: DNP....3C: DNP....VJ: DNP.....BJ: DNP....Hand: 9.8...Arm: 34.4

16+ Terrill Hanks EDG x NM State   6020 242 x

Ideal as hybrid LB on passing downs...More walked off in coverage than behind the LOS...Awareness in zone/proficient in underneath man coverage - PFW

"See the ball get the ball" athlete who needs to better understand the subtler nuances of playing LB...Looks the part..Active and aggressive in run support...Physical competitive tackler...Plays with blinders...slow to proecess...Raw blitzer...can be a bull in a china shop - Lindy's

Converted DB...absolute burner who makes plays all over the field...One of the fastest stack LB's in this class...Can stay with RB's and many TE's...Excellent awareness in zone...Undersized with short arms...Lacks physicality...Can run and cover, with the upside to become a quality starter - Athlon

Forty: 4.98...Ten: DNP....BP: 21....3C: DNP....VJ: 35.5....BJ: 9'10....Hand: 9.8...Arm: 33.5

15 Germaine Pratt EDG x NC State   6024 240 x

Good size...Solid athlete who runs well...Lacks strength at POA...If he was stronger and played a more phyical game, he'd make more plays...Played off the ball at LOS or walked-off in coverage - PFW

Late bloomer whose dedication to nutrition and the weight room speeded his development as a player...Wasn't a full time starter till his senior year...Looks the part of a future Pro Bowl ILB, but lack of consistency may keep him outside...Has rocked up frame...Medical red shirt (shoulder surgery)...Seems to lack the proverbial "extra gear" (may not play as fast as his workouts) - Lindy's

A tackling machine in his lone season as a full-time starter...Gets all over the field - strong motor as a sideline to sideline tackler...Swift blitzer...stiff with limited COD in man coverage...Fits the bill as chase & tackle WILL...Question will be how to use him on 3rd downs - Athlon

Started as a FS before making switch to LB...Has honed his coverage skills...needs to keep developing - USA Today
